Top 10 Instagram Posts + My Word for the New Year

most popular post: will a drop waist dress flatter your figure

Happy New Year!! After taking 3 days off of social media to be present and intentional with my family, I am back and more excited than ever for what’s in store for Fleurdille! Before I begin chatting about my goals for the new year and what you can expect on Fleurdille, I wanted to pause and say THANK YOU! You guys, because of you, I am able to do what I love every. single. day. Fleurdille has achieved so much this year, but as I reflected on my favorite part of this journey during 2017, my mind kept coming back to you. I absolutely love sharing fashion inspiration, outfits, and my motherhood journey with you guys, but engaging with you all for sure takes the cake. I love the positive little community we have created and I love chatting with you guys. I love hearing from you guys and respond to each and every question, DM, or email. So, thank you for being a part of this community and here’s to growing even closer as a Fleurdille family this coming year!

In today’s post I’m sharing several things with you guys. The first being my most popular posts from Instagram. As I was putting those post together and analyzing the top 10 posts, I realized one thing. My top 10 posts fall right in line with what you guys are constantly asking for – a bit of everything! Through multiple polls over this past month I have concluded that the content you guys want to see the most here on Fleurdille are mommy and me posts, athleisure, dresses, and pants outfits. A lot of you want to see more home decore, too, which brings me to my second topic…

The second thing I want to share with you guys today is what you can expect from Fleurdille in 2018. 2017 saw a lot of fashion, and a little bit of personal. It shocked me, but the posts that you guys like the most were my personal posts, like my post on my journey with postpartum depression. And the good thing is, those are my favorite things to share and write about, too! So, in 2018 you can expect to see a lot more personal posts here on the blog and a lot more “real life” moments on my instagram stories. You can also expect to see more travel, more mommy and me posts, and more fitness. I will be training for another half marathon starting this week, so be on the lookout for weekly fitness posts!

And finally, the last thing I want to share with you guys today is my word for 2018 as well as some of my personal resolutions. A couple of years ago I started picking a word for the year. The word is not necessarily a goal, but more of an overarching intention. I have picked words like “simplicity” and “joy” in years past, but this year I am choosing “smile.”

I’m choosing smile to remind myself to smile more. With a hectic schedule, two toddlers, and life stressors, I’ve realized that I can easily slip into a serious mood. Even if I’m happy and carefree on the inside, I realized I haven’t been smiling as much. I hate that. I hate that because smiles are so contagious. They not only help those around you smile, but they actually do wonders on yourself. I find that when I intentionally smile, it actually does help to change my mood for the positive.

I want to smile when I’m talking, smile when I’m listening, smile when I’m working, and most importantly, smile when I’m with my girls. I want my girls to grow up saying “our mommy always smiles, she’s always happy.” I feel like moms so often set the tone for their home, and I want to set a positive, loving, happy tone for mine.

If you had to pick one word for the year, what would it be?

Okay, and because I feel like we all like hearing what resolutions other people have set, I thought I would share some of mine with you. By doing this I am aware I’m inviting accountability in, and I love it! I need it actually. So, hold me accountable folks!
