4 Tips to Stay on Track during the Holidays

Last week we had the pleasure of hearing from Kami Blease of The Kalon Life as she gave us a Holiday HIIT Workout to keep us fit through this holiday, and today she is giving us tips to stay on track with our diet through the holiday season. So, enough from me, let’s hear what Kami has to say…

Not only is working out important but what you fuel your body with is just as much if not more so! It can be hard to stay on track with your goals when you have dinners, parties and travel throwing you off. Below are a few of my go to tricks to keep me on track during this busy holiday season!

  1. Plan ahead! If you know you have a party or event make sure you eat something before so you aren’t starving when you show up. This will make it easier to treat yourself to things you really want verses just trying to satisfy unnecessary cravings.
  2. Bring your own healthy snacks! Everyone is doing Friendsgivings these days and that is a great opportunity to bring healthy alternatives that are still super yummy! Pinterest is my go-to for fun, healthy recipes!
  3. Drink lots of water! A lot of the time when we are feeling hungry, really we are actually just dehydrated! Most people are not drinking near enough water and that affects so many things including your skin, mood and cravings! A good gauge is to drink half your body weight in ounces.
  4. Enjoy yourself! Life is all about balance and the holidays are no fun if you are constantly stressing over what you can and cannot eat. Treat yourself to that favorite desert or meal but stay focused on your goals. Try and eat clean throughout the day so that those evening events you can splurge a little!
