Happy Tiny Tuesday! I’m sitting in the basement of my parent’s lake house as I write this post. I’m up early and watching the best view. My view isn’t of the lake although it’s beautiful; it’s of my girls. They are playing together so sweetly and having a blast playing with “new” toys aka Mimi’s toys. I love that they are best friends. I love that they want to spend every waking second with each other. These are the sweet moments I’ll cherish forever.
These are also the moments I’m trying not to take for granted because things will change soon. Emma Grace will be going to a new school this coming year for Kindergarten and Abby will stay at St. James. It will be the first time my two girls will be separated. Emma Grace is so excited to go to a new school, which makes me so happy. Abigail doesn’t quite understand…she thinks she’s going with Emma Grace to kindergarten. It’s so sweet.
Despite the change that’s about to happen, I’m trying to prep for a new – sure to be great – phase of life! We’re going full steam ahead and prepping for a wonderful new school year full of lots of “firsts.”
It’s crazy to think that the first day of school really is right on the horizon. We’ve already started planning a back-to-school party for Abigail’s class and purchased school supplies for Emma Grace. Backpacks are taken care of, lunch boxes, and food storage, too! With the essentials taken care of already, we’ve been able to focus on the fun stuff – clothes!
Back-to-school shopping was always one of my favorite things and it still is today! We’ve found a lot of dresses on sale from Janie and Jack for Emma Grace, but we wanted something extra special for the first day of school. Even though my girls will be attending different schools, I wanted something matching and something that symbolized a new beginning. Then we received these adorable dresses from Cecil and Lou and knew this was the dress!
Mamas, if you haven’t heard of Cecil and Lou before, listen up. They are a company that makes affordable smocked and monogrammed clothing. So often I stray away from smocked dresses because they are simply way too expensive. The average price point for a Cecil and Lou dress though is $30! Y’all, they have the most adorable back-to-school collection out right now for pre-order and I highly recommend grabbing some now. They are just too cute to past up!
