Happy Thursday, friends! By the time this hits your inbox, I will be in the air headed to Nashville. Truth be told, I actually really love flying because it gives me a chance to read. Anybody else feel this way? The one thing I don’t like about flying though? The way the stagnant, circulated air affects my face. I always feel like I’m breaking out or my skin gets a million times oilier post plane ride.
I also feel like once summer hits it’s an endless battle to keep my skin from looking greasy during the summer. I was talking to a friend about this the other day and sharing that I hate wearing foundation in the summer because of the oil factor. I’m so glad we chatted about this because she gave me the best tip! She told me to try finishing powder not only to set my makeup, but to keep the oiliness at a minimum.
Y’all, this is honestly the best makeup hack EVER for summer! That same week I happened to get the NYX finishing powder ($7) in the mail and decided to give it a go. You guys! It has been a major game changer. I’ve been using it daily for 3 weeks and I have not once had to reapply my makeup or wipe away oil. And this is coming from the girl that used to carry oil blotting sheets with me and use multiple daily. I am so excited to see how well it will work in the true Texas heat, but so far I’m sold. Plus, it’s super cheap so it’s definitely worth a try. Oh, and this is not sponsored, I just like it a lot and had to share!
A quick word on today’s outfit…y’all, I have a jumpsuit problem. I just can’t stop buying them. It’s so hard though when they’re so practical, so comfortable, and so cute! I grabbed this one from LOFT and love, love, love it. The thin stripes elongate your figure and the elastic waist make it super comfortable! I love that you can wear a regular bra with it, too! This is one of those jumpsuits that can be worn to all kinds of events – work with a blazer, on it’s own or layered under a denim jacket.
I kept my accessories pretty simple today with this pair of hoops with a slight pop of color. Did you see yesterday’s post by the way? I talk a lot about where I got these earrings and why I love this jewelry brand.
