The Slip Dress Every Girl Needs in Her Closet

Happy Hump Day, loves! I finally feel like I’m getting over my jet lag. My husband adjusted quite fast, but as of yesterday morning I was still waking up around 3AM and apparently my sister-in-law was too. At least we both have work to do so it’s not a total loss, haha.

Okay, I wish you could see the big smile on my face as I write today’s post because I am just over-the-moon excited to introduce you to one of my favorite summer dresses and a long-time favorite brand of mine – Everlane. I have been following Everlane on instagram for several years now. I love the simple, chic, classic vibe that embodies itself in each and every one of their pieces.

I’m not sure why it took me so long to try their clothing, but I finally did a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing. So you know how there are times when you try on a dress and think “wow, this fits really well” or “I like this but may only wear this once?” We all have them. But, then there are those rare times when you try something on and think “oh my word, I need to order this in every single color right now.” That’s the kind of reaction I had when I tried on this slip dress. Y’all, hear me on this. This dress is the perfect slip dress and it needs to be in each of your closets ASAP.

I love that the dress is on trend with the midi length cut, has a vneck that flatters any and every figure, and a slight side slit to keep it sexy, but not show too much. The other thing I love is that the material (wrinkle free) is thick and not silky at all. My one qualm about the slip dress trend has been that when I wear a silk slip dress it just tends to look like I’m wearing my pajamas in public. I’ve hesitated to really adopt this trend for that reason until I found this dress.

For today’s outfit I went with a monochromatic look and paired it with some pointed slides from Everlane. If you live somewhere hot like Dallas though and would prefer an open toe sandal, then you might want to check out this open toe slide – it’s under $100 and just as cute! Either shoe would be cute with this dress for happy hour or paired with denim shorts to wear on a day date to your nearest park with you main squeeze.
