the top 5 must have fall pieces for every girl

If you had to pick 5 must have fall pieces for fall, what would they be?

I get asked quite frequently what items I believe every girl should have in her closet. It’s actually a tough question to answer when you’re put on the spot!

I’ve found myself returning to the same pieces time and again though this season. The items I keep returning to are versatile, easy to dress up or down, and will truly work with almost anyone’s personal style!

Five Must Have Fall Pieces:

JCrew Sweater Cardigan:

Y’all have heard me talk about this sweater cardigan for months! I first eyed it last Fall, but didn’t pull the trigger. Then, after months of regretting not buying it, I grabbed it on sale this past Spring. Now that fall is here, you can bet I’ll be styling this sweater cardigan all year long!

The great thing about this piece is that is neutral in color and can be paired over almost anything and any color. I love that it’s a bit longer and the way it’s cut is super flattering. It styles easily over casual jeans, a dress, a skirt, black jeans, or slacks for work! You style it to fit your work or home environment.

SIZING: Size down one size. I’m wearing an XS.

Line & Dot Sweater Dress:

This sweater dress is a great dress option for this fall! The cut is very flattering in that it hugs nicely on your arms and bodice, but doesn’t squeeze your mom pooch or booty. It hangs nicely and yet still has great form. The side slits are fun and the material is oh-so-soft!

I love that this dress can be styled casually with sneakers, with booties and the cardigan above, or with over the knee boots like these. The outfit options are endless! Stay tuned because I’ll be styling it multiple ways on Instagram later this week!

SIZING: Size down one size. I’m wearing an XS.

Madewell Perfect Vintage Jeans:

There really is nothing better than a great pair of jeans. Madewell has long been my go-to store for jeans. They are made so well (no pun intended), wash really well, and fit really well.

This year I wanted a pair of jeans that was slightly lighter in color and straight leg. I came across these perfect vintage jeans the last time I was in the store and I fell in love with how they fit. I like too that because they’re not ripped, they can easily be dressed up for date night or girls’ night!

NOTE: If you’re a teacher you get an additional percentage off your purchase if you show your school id. You also get a certain percentage off your jeans purchase if you bring in an old pair of jeans to donate. I order mostly online, so I’ve found if I bring in my receipt and all old pair of jeans they’ll give me credit!

SIZING: Size down one size. I’m wearing a 26.

Everlane Bodysuit:

I got this bodysuit last year and wore it a ton. As temperatures have dropped here in Dallas, I’ve found myself looking in my closet for good layering pieces. I’ve found myself grabbing this bodysuit so much! The vneck line is flattering on almost any body type and I love that the front is double layered so it’s not see through at all.

The great thing about a white bodysuit is that it can be layered over with almost anything. Some of my favorites to layer with are the sweater cardigan above, this cardigan, this longline cardigan, or this leather jacket.

SIZING: True to size. I’m wearing a small.

Snakeskin Booties:

How fun are these booties? The snakeskin makes them just a step above a neutral booty, but they are still neutral enough to pair with almost anything. You could easily wear these with jeans, jean shorts, a skirt, the sweater dress above, or the infamous faux leather leggings!

SIZING: True to size. I’m wearing a 7.5.
