The word I picked for the new year is “simplify;” a word I want to apply to every area of my life. One of those areas being my personal style.
It’s so easy for me to get caught up in the latest trend even if it’s not something that resonates with me, and that’s just not a being true to who I am. So, as I start the new year and begin to simplify my wardrobe, I plan on allowing myself to gravitate toward colors that are more simple and clean – black, white, and blush. Then, I will incorporate the season’s trends into my outfits in a way that fits my everyday feminine style. Some outfit trends may be seen in the way a blouse is cut, in the details of a dress, or even in my accessories.
For example, today’s look is simple: jeans, flats, and a cream color blouse. An outfit that could easily be worn when you’re wearing your mommy hat, when you’re out running errands, or when you’re meeting some friends for dinner. If you look closer though, the lace detailing in the sleeves eludes to a big spring trend to come, the flare cut of the sleeves is right on trend with that 70s vibe, and the lace-up flats are cropping up everywhere!
