Every year the same items seem to fly off the shelf. Sometimes the most popular items get restocked, but most of the time when they’re gone, they’re gone. The items that typically go quickly are items that are both well-made, rarely go on sale, and are very versatile.

Booties are some of the best things to shop at the anniversary sale. Quality booties are typically more expensive, so having the opportunity to grab them for less is great! Almost every year I find myself purchasing a new pair that I can wear all season long. I would first focus on finding a good neutral bootie that you can wear with anything (think cognac or black). Then, have a little fun and shop for a white or snakeskin print bootie.
2. Barefoot Dreams Cardigan
If there is one item that every single woman takes home each year from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s a Barefoot Dreams cardigan. Y’all, they are so insanely soft and their sale price during the sale makes it 100% worth it. I got one last year and can honestly say I wear multiple times per week all year long. Even my girls try to wear it or cuddle with it!
3. Nordstrom Moonlight Dreams Pajama Set
Y’all, these PJs. I had heard people rave about them for years and didn’t get the hype. Then last year I picked up a pair and oh Lordy, I get it. They are so, so comfortable. They have the perfect amount of stretch to them and are so flattering. They wash really well and mine still look a week old after more than a year of washing and wearing. Sets like these are great to have for weekend trips with friends or staying the night at your in-laws.
4. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
The Spanx faux leather leggings are most definitely a holy grail item from the sale. These leggings almost never go on sale throughout the year, so snag them while they are discounted. I got mine 2 years ago and I wear them ALL the time during the fall and winter. They are so incredibly flattering and are very well-made, so they hold up. I hear various opinions on sizing when it comes to these leggings though. Some women say to size up because they are tight. However, if you don’t have much of a bum like me, I’d say stick to your normal size. Also, if you’re short, go for petite so the length isn’t overwhelming.
5. Blank NYC Suede Moto Jacket
This suede moto jacket is one of the most popular jackets of the sale each year. If you follow any influencers, you’ll be sure to see them wearing this jacket all winter long. It’s a great jacket, very well-made, and incredibly versatile. It’s an especially good jacket if you live somewhere like Texas where it doesn’t get that cold and you can wear a cuter jacket all year long.
6. Free People Mock Neck Sweater
This sweater is probably my most worn sweater all year long. It’s pricey, but it’s worth it. I have it in white, but am debating getting it in another color. I like it because it’s long enough to wear with leggings (spanx leggings are my favorite to wear them with), but you can also wear it with jeans. Heck, if you’re short, you could wear it as a dress!
7. Vince Camuto Derika Leather Boot
Without a doubt, a camel-colored boot is always one of the most popular sale items. A tall camel-colored boot is a great winter boot to have as it pairs well with jeans, with leggings, or with a sweater dress. This pair is a great sale price and will hold up well season after season.
8. Tory Burch Striped Crossbody Bag
Tory Burch bags have been big sellers year after year. It should be no surprise that it’s the same case this year! For one, it’s very rare to get a new Tory Burch bag on major sale. Secondly, the bags are such great quality that it’s worth it! This striped crossbody bag is a big seller already and I get it – it goes with everything! Grab it before it’s gone!
9. Throw Blankets
Blankets are always a top seller at the sale. Whether you’re getting one to snuggle with or give as a gift, they will go fast. If you’re looking to splurge on quite possibly the softest blanket, grab this one. If you’re looking to give an affordable blanket, grab this one (under $25). I’ve given it as gifts multiple times!
