3 Ways to Style a Long Tunic

Happy Sunday, y’all!! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend and are enjoying some down time today! Our weekend was a hodgepodge of events starting with attending Buckner’s Hope for Children Benefit on Friday night followed by grabbing some drinks downtown at The WoolWorth with our friends – parents’ night out! Saturday I attended an all-day continuing education conference for speech therapy while Trav stayed home with the girls, and then today we went to church and are now ready to cheer on the Dallas Stars!

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I popped into Anthropologie because I wanted to try on their open-shoulder tee – it looked so comfy, came in multiple colors, and was reasonably priced. However, when I walked into the store I spotted this white tunic and knew instantly that I would be able to wear this time and time again throughout this spring and summer.

If you haven’t caught on by now, the long tunic is one of the big trends this year and in my opinion, it’s one of the most versatile pieces. I’ve never owned a long tunic before, but now that I have one I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll always be on trend (wishful thinking, I know). I think the beauty of spending a little more on trendy pieces like this is that you know you’ll get your wear out of them.

I styled this tunic my favorite way for you in this post, but there are actually 3 ways that you could easily wear this top. So, read through and pick the style that most resonates with your personal style!

3 ways to style a tunic:

1. The front knot – as pictured in today’s post, you can unbutton the last couple of buttons on the top and knot the two sides together to give the shirt a bit more flare

2. As Is – the easiest way to wear this type of tunic is to simply wear it as you buy it – buttoned all the way down and laying flat; you can pair it with denim, white jeans, or black leggings. Adjust your accessories to fit your style!

3. Vest – whether you have on a dress or jeans and a tank top, layer your tunic over your outfit leaving the buttons undone and let the tunic act more like a vest!
