Happy Wednesday!! Let’s chat about the whole crop top trend, ladies. For those of you in your 20s or those of you with fab bods that can rock a legit crop top – more power to ya! I’m jealous. But for the rest of us that either 1) don’t feel like we have the bod for it – thank you baby girls or 2) don’t feel comfortable rocking one as a 30+ something or as a mother then we gotta talk.
Truth be told, I love the crop top trend. I think it’s cute and a fun way to show some skin without letting your tatas hang out. However, my stomach is not what it used to be and I also don’t feel as comfortable wearing one as a mom as I would have 5 years ago. So what to do? One option is to simply not wear crop tops. The other option is to find a way to work it into your style and your comfort zone.
So I found this gathered bandeau top from Asos the other day (did you know it’s pronounced ‘a-sauce’?), and I was intrigued. I thought the gathered material would be flattering, but I was worried about the length. I thought I would be sending it back. However, when I tried it on with some high waisted culotte pants, it was perfect! It still have the illusion of a crop top, but didn’t show any of my mid section. Perfect! I love how it adds a little character to my wide leg pants, but I also love that it is an extremely versatile top.
I mean how cute would this top look with some distressed denim, cropped shorts, or even a pencil skirt? This is just one of those tops that you’ll find yourself wearing over and over again.
