This Modern Hotel is the Best in Midtown Manhattan

What was your favorite party about staying in a hotel when you were little? For me, it was two fold. I loved getting to wear an oversized robe and snuggle in bed. I also loved continental breakfasts. It’s true. There was just something so fun about having what seemed to be endless breakfast choices when I was 8 years old. And today? My tastes have changed, but I still love a cozy robe and a delicious breakfast. I have added a couple extra requirements though over the years.

Isn’t it funny the things we start to value as we get older? Some things can be quirky for sure – the type of beauty products a hotel uses, or if they are connected to a certain coffee shop. But for the most part, there are some key factors that I would say most adults seek out when booking a hotel in a new city.

Last week on my trip to New York for Fashion Week, I had the privilege of staying in one of my favorite New York hotels. Hotel 48 Lex, located in the heart of Midtown, is truly the ideal hotel if you’re visiting New York. From location to customer service, Hotel 48 Lex hits it out of the park.

Hotel 48 Lex is located in Midtown, only 11 blocks from Central Park. It’s several streets over from 5th avenue – the shopping mecca, and it’s only a couple blocks from a subway station. It is one of the easiest hotels to get to and centrally located for sight seeing. It’s also right on the corner of 48th Street and Lexington, so each room has an amazing view of the streets. Personally, I thrive on the energy of a big city, so I love being able to look down at the hustle and bustle.

Several years ago I stayed at Hotel 48 Lex on a girls’ trip and we had an amazing corner room – I highly recommend. But this year, we stayed on the 4th floor and enjoyed a room with a gorgeous balcony. If you are into meditation, like to read early in the morning, or just need some personal down time, I highly recommend this room. It’s so nice to sit outdoors on a spacious patio, sip on some coffee or wine, and enjoy the hum of the city.

Enough on the location though because I know you’re ready to hear about the rooms. The rooms are incredible, y’all. They are quite spacious for NYC, boasting of a large bed, a beautiful marble bathroom, and a small living area. The decor is modern and the colors are cool and soothing. Truth be told, the bathrooms are probably my favorite part. Not only is the bathroom light and bright, but their beauty products are second to none. They use Malin + Goetz skin care products and it’s amazing. Honestly, you won’t feel like you’re in NYC because the rooms are so spacious!

One of my other favorite features of Hotel 48 Lex is their lounge on the second floor. It is such a chic lounge with wine in the evenings and full service coffee bar in the mornings. Each morning my friend and I would venture down to the coffee bar, get our decaf americano and regular coffee and head back up to our room to get ready. It’s nice to have a cozy, chic place to refuel and unwind when you’re constantly on the go.

And finally, one of the best attributes of Hotel 48 Lex is their customer service. Customer service can make or break a hotel and they are nailing it. From the second you step into the hotel, you are greeted by a smiling face and a willingness to serve. It’s so incredible that both my friend and I left wanting to immediately write a review on how impeccable they customer service was. We had one employee at the front desk spend 5-10 minutes searching for dinner options for us, looking them up on the map, and helping us find the right Subway train. It was so kind and they definitely go above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating.

A quick note about today’s outfit, too. Not only are jumpsuits staying on trend through the Fall/Winter, but denim jumpsuits are making a comeback. My mom texted me immediately when she saw this outfit because it reminded her of her denim jumpsuit in college. So crazy and fun! I love this one because it cinches at the waist and hits on the straight leg denim trend. I button it most of the way up, but if you have a smaller chest, it would be so cute with a lace bralette peeping through. Dress it up with pumps and down with sneaks!
