Hi there babes! What do you say when people ask what you do? It’s a question we’re asked all the time and I believe society has trained us to give one answer. Society has trained us to say what we do to earn a living as our job description. What’s crazy though is that whether we have kids or not, we don’t do just one thing; we don’t have just one job. We all wear so many hats that sometimes it feels silly to give weight to one job over the other when we answer.
In the past, when asked what I do, I used to say “part-time speech therapist;” after all, it’s what my master’s degree is in. But that answer is only partly true. In reality, I am an entrepreneur, I own my own company and run it solo, I am a full-time mother, a wife, a friend, and have several side gigs. I wear a lot of hats, much like you do I’m sure! And wearing a lot of hats is precisely why I fell in love with my new hat…seriously though!
Several months ago I was introduced to Bahadu. Bahadu is a hat company that was founded by three Midwestern women who had a vision of creating a community of women where each individual woman felt comfort and freedom in celebrating their individuality. Bahadu’s founders knew that every woman is unique and every woman wears many hats. They wanted to create a company that would come along side women and celebrate them for what they do and who they are and they wanted to create a hat to support that journey and experience.
The intentionality behind their hat design is pretty impeccable, too! Their hats are versatile and made to fit any head. Their hats can be worn to any function, with any style, and for any job description. They are made to fit seamlessly into every woman’s life and style. I love this idea and have found it to be so true! I have been wearing my “stone” colored hat a lot and love that I can wear it with jeans and a cute top while I work in a coffee shop and then switch into workout leggings and a tee for soccer practice and the hat still works!
The word “bahadu” actually means “Be Happy Doing You!” and I just love that! At Bahadu they created a “to-do list” and I just love it. It is something I whole-heartedly support and want to be a part of!

So, grab a hat to go with the many hats you wear and love yourself and your body for exactly who you are and exactly where you are right at this moment!
