The Best Sun Protective Clothing for All Ages

Happy Monday, friends! It feels good to be back in this little space! We spent all of last week camping in Colorado and had the best time. It was such a great opportunity to unplug and pour into our girls. Camping is something I grew up doing and we’ve loved sharing that with our girls as they grow up.

We go to the same spot every year – a campground called South Mineral, right outside of Silverton. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, but it’s also over 9,000 feet! Such a high elevation means you’re a lot closer to the sun compared to Dallas. So, even though the weather feels cool, sun protection is a huge priority. This year I tried to be a lot more prepared and a lot more thoughtful in regards to protecting my skin and my girls’ skin.

We started by upping our sunscreen game. We followed the sunscreen guide my dermatologist gave us a couple of weeks ago. I also brought sun protective clothing with us. One of my favorite brands for sunscreen clothing is Cabana Life. We’ve been long-time fans of Cabana Life and my girls have worn their suits and rash guards since they were babies!

I knew we would be going to a natural hot springs during our trip and so I brought these adorable suits for the girls. They are super fair, and I wanted to make sure I took care of their skin. I also wore this polo and Trav wore this hoodie on our hike to 13,330 feet! You know what they say…the closer to the sun the closer to God…but also, the closer to the sun. Haha.
