Dress season is officially here! In lieu of my monthly capsule wardrobe, I thought I would do a summer dress capsule wardrobe instead. As temperatures heat up here in Dallas, I find myself reaching for breezy dresses more and more. So, I thought that for the month of June I would share with you my top ten dresses for summer.
I was super picky when selecting these dresses as I wanted them to be quality dresses that were versatile and that I knew from personal experience were worth buying. I own each and every one of these dresses; some of them I’ve had for several years! They are all at great price points, too!
I’ve provided a brief description of each below as well as their sizing information. I hope that you’ll find a dress or two that you like and can wear all summer long!
Summer Dress Capsule:
White Halter Linen Dress:
FIT: true to size.
I got this dress from Banana Republic last summer and wore it a ton. It’s double lined so it’s not see through. It comes with a tie around the waist, but I don’t wear it as I think it looks just as good without it.
White Tiered Jersey Dress:
FIT: size down one.
This JCrew jersey dress is another dress I got last summer that they’ve brought back again this summer. Y’all, it’s SO comfortable. It’s a great throw-and-go dress and comes in several color options, too.
Weekend Tiered Dress In Oak:
FIT: true to size.
I grabbed this tiered dress from Everlane recently. It’s actually being shipped to me as we speak! I love the way it flows and think this will be another great casual option to have this summer. I envision wearing it to a backyard hangout or throwing it over a bathing suit as a coverup.
Floral Maxi Dress:
FIT: size down one.
This Free People dress is hands down one of my favorite dresses for this summer. I bought it and wore it in Mexico and got so many compliments. It’s a lot of fabric, but super breezy and the open back is just so fun! I recommend wearing this backless bra with it.
Ruffle Trimmed Relax Fit Maxi Dress:
FIT: true to size.
Find me a more comfortable dress. I got this dress initially in white and it was so comfortable I immediately ordered it in the pale yellow and black. And, bonus, it’s only $25!
V-neck Drop Waist Dress:
FIT: true to size.
This dress, like the one above, is also crazy affordable and super comfortable. I like that the fabric on this dress is a bit nicer though and the v-neck in the front and back makes it a little sexier. This is a great dress option to wear for date night or dinner with girls! It also comes in cute hot pink color!
The 90s Mini Dress:
FIT: true to size.
This is another dress I just ordered. Every dress I’ve ever ordered from Everlane I’ve loved. I think it’s fun to have a shorter dress in the mix and the neckline on this one is so fun. Another great option for happy hour with the girls or date night.
Black Ruffle Detail Dress:
FIT: true to size.
Give me all the ruffles. I love the simplicity of this maxi dress and the feminine frill of the sleeves. It’s just enough to elevate it above your standard black cotton maxi dress.
The Ellie Nap Dress:
FIT: true to size.
Y’all, of all the dresses in this summer dress capsule, this one is my favorite. It’s crazy comfortable and super feminine. There are several different colors/patterns, but this white one is so simple and just screams “summer.” I do recommend wearing a slip under it though as it’s a bit thinner of material.
Pink Vneck Maxi Dress:
FIT: size down one.
Hello, Target dress. How stinking cute is it? This dress has already been a big seller on the blog and it makes sense. It’s comfortable and super flattering. It also just got restocked in all colors and patterns.
