I think I may have jumped out of my skin when Pantone announced Rose Quartz as the 2016 color of the year. To me, blush pink perfectly exemplifies all things feminine. I also think this color looks great with all hair colors – blonde, black, brown, and red!
Before I go on, it should be noted though that Pantone actually announced two colors for 2016: rose quartz and serenity. I’m not sure if I can pull off serenity, but I may give it a go soon…we’ll see. 😉
About today’s outfit…I would wear this every day if I could. In reality, my days typically start with rolling out of bed, throwing on sweat pants and a robe, feeding both girls, trying to calmly handle 3-5 crying fits from Emma (she’s NOT a morning person), feeding the dog – if I remember, and then I either throw on scrubs if it’s a working day or jeans and a sweater if I’m off and get to spend the day at home with my girls.
So although my daytime outfits tend to be more casual, I relish the opportunities to dress up whether I’m going out with girlfriends, attending a shower, or going on a date with the hubs. And if I could wear one outfit over and over and over without anyone noticing, it would be this outfit.
I love how light and airy the skirt is, how it moves ever so gently when you walk, and I think the length is still appropriate for a mommy, haha. I also love the detailing in the sweater. Solid sweaters tend to make me look chunkier since I’m short, short-waisted, and busty. So if you’re like me, picking a sweater that either has a v-neck or detailing like this one that gives the illusion of a v-neck which helps elongate your figure and take off weight.
As always, I love this sweater, too, because I can wear it more than one way and I have already! If you follow me on instagram, then you can check out how I styled this sweater with jeans and flats for a more casual day with my girls.
