Happy Monday, friends! The work week has officially begun, but we can still have a bit of fun! The velvet trend is so big this season and we’re seeing it crop up everywhere from clothing to home to accessories. A couple of weeks ago I featured my favorites pink velvet items on my “Save or Splurge” series and it was one of y’all’s favorites! This pink velvet duster for sure made the list and has been a fun addition to my Fall wardrobe.

I originally thought this would be one of those fun statement pieces you would wear only a handful of times. But, I’ve already proven that wrong! I wore this exact outfit out with my husband, and then wore it the next day to work. Don’t judge – I know you guys probably repeat clothing, too, haha. I mean, if it isn’t dirty and it doesn’t smell, why not get more use out of it? So far I’ve only paired it with denim – regular and white, but I think you could wear it with so much more.

I think it would look absolutely adorable layered over this Leith ruched dress a.k.a. the “it dress” right now. I actually titled today’s post “the alternative to a leather jacket,” because I really think it’s that versatile. A leather jacket is such a great jacket to have for the Fall/Winter because it can be worn with so much. I think a duster like this that’s fun, comfortable and neutral enough can serve the same cause, too!
