Hi, friends! Anyone else celebrating the fact that it’s finally Thursday? I think the only things getting me through this week are binge watching FRIENDS with the hubs and Emma’s sweet “I love yous” at random moments. For real though, it’s been a long week and I’m looking forward to a giant glass of red wine tonight.
I always thought summer was my favorite season to dress for simply because I love living in dresses. But, as I get older I am realizing how much more I enjoy dressing for Spring. I love all the layering options you get with warm days and cool nights. I love that you can wear jeans with a tank during the day and layer a cute trench coat over it at night. I think my favorite Spring look though is denim shorts with a Spring sweater. It feels cozy and chic all at the same time. It’s fun to show a little leg too after hiding them all winter long.
These Madewell shorts are my absolute favorite this season. I love their high waist and the fact that you can cuff them or not depending on your mood. But this sweater y’all…how cute it is!? I Love that from afar it just looks like a good ole neutral sweater. Up close and personal though, you see all the fun details! The fringe details and the crochet sleeves are everything. It immediately makes a simple statement when you wear it and I love that. It’s so easy, right?
So, if you want to know the one item you need in your Spring wardrobe, it’s a neutral sweater! It will lend you so many outfit options. For example, I’ve already worn this sweater with white jeans and white shorts. You could easily style it with colored denim though or a pretty floral skirt. Investing in some key neutral pieces will instantly expand your wardrobe.
