Hi, babes! I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas. We had the joy of spending the day at my in-laws with our cousins, aunts, uncles, and lots of little kiddos running around. I think I’m still on a high from time with my family. I guess that’s a pretty solid indicator that one of my love languages is quality time…
The good news is that the celebration doesn’t stop at Christmas! New Year’s Eve is coming up and I am willing to be some of you guys have some pretty great plans in the works. If I’m being honest, NYE is a bit oversold, but I’ve found that if you celebrate it exactly as you want to and not as you think you’re supposed to, you’ll have an amazing time! For some of us that means dressing to the nines and attending a spectacular event. For others that means dressing nice and going to a nice dinner with friends. And for me it typically looks like ordering food in and playing games with our little family and friends.
Although I love being a homebody on NYE, we are adding a little adult fun to our NYE celebration this year. We’re going to an early dinner with some close friends, but will be back in time to ring in the new year with our kiddos. I mean, how could I pass up on the chance to wear sequins knowing I’ll end up in my sweats?
No matter how you celebrate New Year’s Eve though, there is not reason to stress about your outfit! Clotheshorse Anonymous, my favorite local consignment store (they’re online, too), has you covered! To help inspire you, I created 4 different NYE outfits with pieces I picked up from Clotheshorse Anonymous.
NYE glam:
Dressing up for a fancy NYE party or a glamorous event can be so fun! Sequin dresses are always a good go-to, but I wanted to pick a dress this year that I knew I could wear a couple more times, too. I gravitated toward this black dress because of the big bow and the one-shoulder cut. It’s fun to show a little skin! I played off the big bow and grabbed some metallic shoes with a bow on them as well.
NYE party:
Whether you’re going to a bar or a fun NYE party, a dress doesn’t have to be your only outfit option. For a slightly more casual party, I styled this fun gold blazer. I paired it with black spanx leggings and heels to keep the focus on the blazer and then added a sequin cami to give it a little NYE glam.
NYE house party:
Man, I love a good house party. I love dressing up a little, but still being comfortable. It’s fun to go somewhere, make some fun drinks, eat good food, and laugh with others. For this look I kept it simple. I grabbed my most comfortable pair of jeans and paired it with this flowy top from Clotheshorse Anonymous. To give it a NYE feel, I layered this sequin scarf that I also found at Clotheshorse Anonymous over it. That little bit of sparkle really does go a long way!
NYE at home:
And my favorite way to celebrate – game night at home! I mean how can you pass up wearing comfy clothes while sipping champagne? Even though I like wearing comfy clothes, I do try and keep my comfy clothes a bit elevated given it is a celebration. So, rather than grabbing my oversized sweat pants and XL tee, I found some cute options at Clotheshorse anonymous. These form-fitting leggings are so soft and this cream colored sweatshirt fits in such a flattering way while still being comfortable.
