Hooray for May’s Capsule Wardrobe! I polled some of you guys on Instagram this week to see if you’d prefer a capsule wardrobe or a dress capsule. The majority of you all said a regular capsule wardrobe, so here we are! I did however include a few more dresses than normal for those that wanted more dresses. I also think that warmer weather calls for dresses – they breath well and are so comfortable!
This month’s capsule wardrobe features pieces ideal for summer weather. You’ll also see a few repeats from the April Capsule Wardrobe and even a few pieces from last summer! I will say, if I can recommend buying one piece from this month’s wardrobe it would be the Agolde Denim Shorts. They are worth every penny and you’ll wear them all summer long!
May 2021 Capsule Wardrobe:
Dresses:
H&M V-neck Dress – this dress is light and flowy and the vneck is flattering for all body types.
Hill House Nap Dress – this dress is a bit on the pricier side, but it’s one you’ll wear over and over. Wear it at home, out while you’re doing chores, or out for drinks with the girls.
JCrew Tiered Dress – I got this dress last summer and wore it all the time. I love that they brought it back because I know I and you will get so much wear out of it!
Tiered Maxi Dress (under $40) – easy, breezy dresses are the name of the game for summer. This maxi is crazy comfortable and the perfect dress for a hot day.
LOFT Jumpsuit – this jumpsuit was in last month’s capsule and it’s so good that it’s worthy of being in this month’s as well. It’s crazy versatile and works well for work or play. It’s light weight and perfect for summer.
Tops:
Madewell Grey Bodysuit – I have this bodysuit in the long sleeve version. It’s so comfy I had to order the sleeveless.
Free People Vneck Bodysuit – this bodysuit is a bit dippier than some, but it is crazy flattering!
Madewell Vneck Tee – a white tee is always a good summer staple. I love the way this one fits and how flattering it is on.
Free People T-shirt – I love the fit of this shirt. It also made last month’s wardrobe and it was so versatile I wanted to include it again because I know I’ll keep wearing it.
Free People Graphic Tee – I wanted to add a fun casual piece to this month’s wardrobe and this tee is so fun!
Bottoms:
Madewell Gauze Pants – these are THE perfect pants for summer. You can easily style them with a spring sweater, a white tee, a bodysuit, or as a swim coverup.
LOFT White Jeans – can you even have a summer capsule without white jeans? I’ve been wearing this under $100 pair nonstop. They have the perfect amount of stretch and I love the button fly!
Madewell Straight Leg Jeans – okay, okay, I have into Gen Z…straight leg jeans it is! I didn’t want to give into the straight leg trend, but tried on this pair at Madewell and actually loved how they fit. They are so flattering! I will say go down one size at least. I ended up going down 2 sizes.
Agolde Denim Shorts – these shorts would for sure make my top 3 list of items you should own for summer. They’re a tad bit more expensive, but they are worth it! They wear so well and are crazy comfortable.
Target Terry Shorts – I know life is mostly “back to normal,” but I had to include one pair of loungewear bottoms. I don’t know about you, but I love changing into comfies when I get home!
Shoes:
Tory Burch Slides – I’ve been sharing these Tory Burch slides for a couple months now. They are crazy comfortable. I love this neutral pair, but any color would be a great addition to any wardrobe. They fit true to size and work perfectly for your everyday outfit or with your suit and coverup to wear by the pool
Madewell Espadrille Slide Sandal – I wanted to add a pair of sandals that weren’t quite as neutral. I recently got these from Madewell and love their look. They fit true to size as well!
