Monday Mood Board: Neutral Hues Master Bedroom Inspiration

master bedroom design

Hey, there! I’m so glad you’re here!

As many of you know already, we sold our home this summer and are currently leasing it until we find a new home. It’s been such a crazy process, but also one of the most peaceful processes. We have trusted God with every decision – big and small – and he has shown up in big ways throughout the whole process!

As we gear up to move into a new house, I’ve started creating mood boards for each room. I am far from an interior designer and still need a lot of help from my designer friends; but, I love spending time putting pieces together and visualizing what each space could be!

As we approach move-in date for our new home, I thought I’d share a mood board with you all each week. Some rooms will end up pretty close to their mood board while others may differ in the end.

The first mood board I wanted to share with y’all is the one for our master bedroom.

Master Bedroom Inspiration:

When I create a mood board, I typically start with one large piece – typically furniture – and add pieces from there. For my master bedroom, I was initially inspired by this gorgeous rug. I love the pattern so much and the neutral hues.

The next piece I knew without a doubt that I wanted was this bed. Travis and I have never had a king bed before and that was one of our non-negotiables for our new home. I fell in love with this bed several weeks back and think it will be a bed we’ll be happy with for a long time. We are going to order it in the Alabaster color. What I love is that it can be styled with almost any rug or type of furniture so it can stay as my home decor style shifts over the years (if it does at all).

When it comes to bedside lamps, I originally wanted to hang these lamps from the ceiling. However, Trav wasn’t a huge fan so I pivoted a bit. I wanted the lamp or shade to have some texture to it, and fell IN LOVE with these lamps. They will be a splurge for sure, but I’m saving in other places so it all works!

I’m a huge fan of using what you have and repurposing items, so I’m going to move these side tables – currently in our living room – into our bedroom. I love their color and they’ll be a perfect size.

I also want to have some sort of bench at the end of our bed to keep us from setting things on our bed. I don’t know if we will have enough room to do this, but if we do, I love the idea of putting two of these at the end of our bed.

As far as a dresser and bedding – I haven’t gotten that far. I linked some pillows and a throw I’m loving, but that’s about as far as I’ve gotten. So, stay tuned!!!
