Hello, lovelies! Thanks for stopping by today! I’m currently writing this from the Kansas City airport. My sister and I were supposed to fly home from Kripalu yesterday, but our connecting flight in Chicago got canceled due to fog. Grr! Anyway, we’re airport hopping today and hoping to make it home by dinner. In the meantime, we’re posted up outside of CPK trying to get some work done.
Every year I feel crazy saying this, but it is time to start thinking about what we’re buying as far as clothes go. On one hand, the temps are still cold. On the other hand, I struggle to invest in coats and jackets knowing warmer weather is so close. So, I typically like to do a couple of things during this time period in regards to clothes. One thing I like to do is keep my eye out on sales. A lot of companies will start marking their winter items down on major sale to make room for Spring clothes. Keep an eye out for brands like LOFT, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, and Shopbop. I’ll be keeping an eye out, too, and will let y’all know of any good winter sales!
The other thing I like to do is to only buy transitional items for my wardrobe. When I say “transitional items,” I mean those pieces of clothing that can be worn now and in the Spring. Sweaters are typically a good option as you can wear them with jeans and denim shorts later. A lighter pair of denim is also a good choice. But, my very favorite thing to transition from winter to spring is sweater dresses!
I love wearing sweater dresses because they are so dang easy to style for winter or for spring. For example, the sweater dress in today’s post looks adorable layered over denim and worn as a tunic. It also looks great styled with OTK boots or layered under a jacket. But, when those temps heat up, all you have to do is change your shoes! So easy! Pair it with some cute slides or open toe heels and you’ve got yourself the perfect Spring outfit. Spring weather usually means warmer temps during the day and cooler evenings, and sweater dresses are ideal for that situation!
The sweater in today’s post is one that I’ve coveted for a long time. I typically don’t shop at Free People because it can be a bit pricey. However, they do have sales frequently and they’re sold at Nordstrom and Zappos too and can usually be found on sale there, too! This slouchy tunic was super popular this past Fall and came in the prettiest pink color. Of course I waited too long to buy it and the pink sold out immediately. Ugh. (If you are interested in a similar pink sweater though, check out this one!) So, when they came out with the white color, I snagged it immediately. Of course, it’s selling out quickly, too. I’m wearing a small, but grab one if your size if it’s left! It also comes in a couple other colors like taupe, and black, but I’m struggling to find them in stock. Grr!
So, if your size is sold out in this sweater, check out my favorites below because a lot of them are on sale! Just click the image you want to check out!
