How to style leather in the summer

I love that leather is on trend right now as leather is one of my favorite fabrics to wear in the Fall and Winter! Although, I’ve never really thought about how to incorporate it into my “warm weather wardrobe” until recently and figured that might be the case for some of you (especially if you’re pregnant, haha). I think my biggest advice is to incorporate it in such a way that you can still keep cool in those hot summer temps. For today’s outfit, I paired a thin pair of faux leather leggings (emphasis on thin) with a breezy blush blouse from Topshop and some comfortable Halogen flats I got from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I’m usually in and out of meetings and work all day, so leather leggings doesn’t seem so crazy in the summer heat for me as I’m not spending much time outdoors. But, if this isn’t your thing, I’ve listed — ways to wear leather in the summer below.

topshop top | asos leggings | halogen shoes | lulus bag (similar under $35; similar tory burch; here in gold) | gorjana necklace | tory burch earrings | kate spade sunnies (similar) | mac lipstick – cream cup

7 ways to wear leather in the summer:

1. pair leather shorts with a loose fitted t-shirt tucked in the front

2. layer a leather vest over a sleeveless dress (dress can be any style!)

3. invest in a top that has leather detailing on it such as leather trim on the sleeves, a leather pocket, or a leather back

4. layer a cropped leather jacket over a top and shorts or some cute cropped pants

5. pair a leather crop top with your favorite skinny jeans or summer shorts

6. style a leather mini skirt with a loose denim blouse or oversized summer sweater

7. if you’re really brave, invest in a leather shift dress and pair it with some cute flats
