Happy Monday, loves! It’s a 3 day week for Travis and me and to be honest, I kind of already feel like I’m on vacation mode. One of my favorite things to do with Travis is explore new cities and we are super pumped to be Nashville bound this week. Although we’ve been to Nashville before, it was for a wedding and we didn’t have a lot of time to explore. Yes, we are going for a wedding this time too, but we’re adding a couple days on before and after to just hang. Be sure to follow along on my instastories! And, if you’re from Nashville, please leave your recs in the comments!
So, what is y’all’s opinion on the shirt tuck trend? It started with just the front tuck, but now we’ve added the full-on shirt tuck. I don’t know about you guys, but I hated this trend right from the start. Haha. I am most definitely comfortable in my own skin, but I also am self aware enough to know that my body is just not the same post babies. And that number one area that gives me trouble post-babies is my stomach.
As much as I want to will myself to be a 5’11” woman with abs of steel, I’m still little ole me. 5’2″ and a soft stomach. That being said, the whole tuck your shirt all the way in trend was very off-putting. When you tuck your shirt in all the way it accentuates how flat or not flat your stomach is. Don’t get me wrong, I think that this trend is super cute and looks amazing on most girls. I just didn’t think I could swing it.
But…I figured out the trick to this trend, ladies! High waisted denim. That’s right. High waisted denim – especially denim with a little stretch – reaches up over your mom pooch and sucks you right it. They kind of act like Spanx and I love it! It’s the only way I could swing the whole shirt tuck trend. Have you guys tried it? If you haven’t, my favorite brands for high waisted denim are LOFT and Levi’s. The ones I’m wearing today are from LOFT, but I wear my Levi’s just as much!
