Although I have been leaning toward more neutral colors lately – black, nude, blush, there’s just something about adding a bold color to you outfit that brightens your winter wardrobe!
Typically I reach for a bright pink or cobalt blue if I am looking to add a pop of color, but I have loved seeing bright yellow crop up everywhere this winter. Yellow can be a tricky color to pull off, but when it’s done right it makes quite the statement!
My advice for wearing yellow is to try it on! Everyone’s skin tone and hair color is different, so different yellows will look different on everyone. For example, I do better with neon yellow and marigold shades, but struggle to pull off pale yellow.
I love how Katey of Chronicles of Frivolity styled this yellow jacket and how Christine of Hello Fashion styled this yellow skirt with feminine lace. For me, I wanted to get something I could wear multiple times. So, I searched for a yellow piece that I could use to create completely different looks because bold colors are hard to forget.
I found this chunky sweater from Banana Republic during the Black Friday sales and thought it would be the perfect piece to pair with jeans and flats or dress up with a white skirt or wide leg pants and heels.
