Happy Sunday Eve, folks! I hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend! Our weekend actually consisted of a lot – Travis cooked his annual holiday meal of Duck for us on Friday night, we celebrated our friends buying a new home with tamales and a bounce house on Saturday, started packing for Chicago, and delivered dozens of chocolate crinkle cookies to our neighbors. I think my favorite part of the whole weekend was delivering cookies.
Today at church our sermon was on generosity. It so fueled my soul and was just the message I needed to hear heading into the new year. It reminded me not to compare myself and my status to others and to focus on my relationship with Christ and loving others as He would. It reminded me that no matter how much money or assets we have, we can always love those around us. So, today we taught our girls that something as simple as gifting cookies can bring more joy than receiving gifts and is a great way to show God’s love.
Today’s look though…would y’all believe me if I told you it was actually cold enough in Dallas for me to actually layer?! Y’all, it’s 25 degrees right now!!! Now that is legit cold. Because I’m an old lady and am always cold (we’re talking I turn my car heater on in the low 70s cold), one of my favorite ways to stay warm is to layer.
I found this feminine sweatshirt at Nordstrom about a month ago and originally planned on pairing it with black leggings and OTK boots, but couldn’t resist how much femininity and fun a tie-neck blouse brought to it. Dressing up your sweatshirt can be so easy with a fun blouse or patterned top underneath (think plaid), or by adding a statement necklace on top. So, next time you’re dressing to stay warm, don’t overlook your sweatshirts!
