The slip dress trend. Man, I have to admit that I was a little nervous about this one. I love how effortless, feminine, and even sexy slip dresses can look on women, but did not think I’d be able to pull it off. It felt like every time I came across a slip dress I liked it was either too revealing, a little see-through, or made it look like I was trying to be 21 again.
But, I didn’t give up easily! I kept looking in hopes that something would come my way, and it did! I finally came across this one from Nordstrom and thought I’d give it a go! I love the femininity of the blush pink, the high-lo hemline and the cut-out neckline is not only on trend, but gives the illusion of showing a bit of skin without actually revealing too much. Oh, and it’s not see-through.
I also liked that this dress was/is a little longer because I feel like it gives me a little more flexibility in the way I style it. I originally wore it as is – a looser, shift dress type style, but then found that adding a thin belt did more for my figure. I’ll be playing tourist in NYC in about a month with my sister and mom, too, and I am pretty sure this dress is coming with me layered under a summer blazer. How would you style this dress?
