Post Baby Style: Hi-Lo Emerald Green Dress

Transition. This is a world I’ve become very familiar with as of late as my family is going through all kinds of transitions. Transitioning from a family of 3 to 4; transitioning from daddy being gone at night for school to being home now; transitioning from working into maternity leave; transitioning back to life with a newborn; transitioning into cooler weather; transitioning back to being a vegetarian; soon to be transitioning into a new job. You name it, I bet we’re going through it.

Transitioning can be so scary at times, but it’s also a great opportunity to embrace change and learn a lot about yourself!

The one change that’s affected my fashion in the past couple of weeks has been transitioning from my pregnancy body back to my “old self.” I don’t know about you other mommies out there, but I was super eager to get back into non-maternity clothing.

For some women, and I like to think of this women as fictional characters, they can fit right back into their old jeans the week after they give birth. Well, that wasn’t the case for me, so instead I’ve looked to find styles and trends that will work with my figure and flatter my post-baby body.

This hi-lo dress from Fancy Free definitely fit the bill. The hi-lo cut and emerald green color are right on trend for the Fall, and the loose fabric gives me a little leeway for my post-baby tummy.

post baby style tip: try to showcase the areas of your body that you’re proud of; for example, I didn’t gain weight in my legs during my pregnancy so that’s a good area for me to try and draw attention to instead of my stomach
