Happy Hump Day, Fleurdille family! Anyone else feel like it should already be Friday? I sure do. In fact, I’ve been trying to not drink red wine during the week, but Monday and Tuesday called for a tall glass of one of my favorite reds – The Resident Red Wine. Can I get an Amen?

Onto fashion though! Have y’all noticed the jean trend that is sneaking back into our wardrobes? Y’all, mid rise jeans are slowly trying to make a comeback. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not 17 anymore, because I’m a mom, or because my body has changed post baby, but I am just not a big fan of mid rise denim. I prefer the high rise jeans. You know, the jeans that suck in your mom pooch, that leave smooth lines and don’t accentuate your love handles. Yea, those kind.

I did however give mid-rise jeans a try with today’s look. Overall, I think they can look alright if you’re wearing your correct size, but I just don’t think they’re as flattering or as comfortable as high rise jeans. And furthermore, I don’t feel as confident in mid rise denim as I do in high rise denim.
I think mid rise jeans probably work really well for some, but they just aren’t the best pick for my body. At 5’2″ with a really short waist, mid-rise jeans don’t do me any favors. I share all of this with you to encourage you to wear what you feel comfortable and confident in. You don’t have to follow every single trend and this mid-rise trend is definitely one trend I won’t be trying to pull off any time soon.
