Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, friends! Back in the day (not really, but kinda…) we used to celebrate this holiday drinking margaritas with friends via a patio at a fun Mexican restaurant. This year however, you can find us at Mi Cocina at 5:30 (family hour, let’s be honest) with our two babes enjoying some chips, probably chasing Emma Grace around the restaurant, and trying to sneak in a festive beverage. No matter what your Cinco plans are though, you can still dress the part! I plan on it!
I recently purchased this dress from Nordstrom because of the beautiful floral print and the tie-front detail. Cut-outs and crop tops are very much on trend right now, but to be honest, they’re some of the trends I struggle with the most. Not because I don’t like how they look, but rather because I’m a mother of two girls and want to make sure I’m dressing appropriately for my age and life stage.
What I love about this dress though is that it (appropriately) gives you a little taste of these two trends without getting too crazy. The stomach cut-out shows just a little bit of skin, but not too much. This is also a great dress to wear if you aren’t super comfortable with your stomach because it doesn’t show very much at all!
So, whether you’re celebrating with friends in the backyard, sipping on margaritas at a fun happy hour, or chasing your littles around a mexican restaurant, have fun dressing for the holiday! Add some color, show a little shoulder, and hop on board the pom pom trend via your shoes or clutch!
Thanks for reading!!
