Bodycon dress

I was at a wedding shower last night and was talking with some women from my parents’ generation about how they used to try and hide their bump with large clothing when they were pregnant. Now, women celebrate their bump by wearing form-fitting clothing that shows off the little baby growing inside you, and I love that! I am so glad times and trends have changed in that regard because new life is something to be celebrated and although our bodies are ever-changing during pregnancy, we can still be trendy and dress in a way that makes us feel beautiful.

For me, picking and choosing the trends that work for my short figure and growing bump has been one of the most important decisions  for my maternity wardrobe. I’ve had to accept that there are just some trends this seasons like the crop top for example, that just won’t work for this 5’2″ pregnant mommy. So, the two trends I’m focusing on in today’s post are the long, open vest and tassle sandals. Accessories like these can be your best friend during pregnancy because they can be paired with so many different outfit combinations. I wore them here with this Ingrid & Isabel bodycon dress – the most comfortable dress ever I might add, but I’ve also worn them with white skinny jeans and a white tank top for a more casual look.
