3 Ways to Wear Silk in the Winter

This post was created in collaboration with Alice & Trixie. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting those brands that support Fleurdille.

Hey guys!! Today’s “save or splurge” is set up a bit differently than my previous “save or splurge” posts. Usually I have a collage image for you with shoppable links or images below it. Today I’m talking about a specific fabric – silk – and you can scroll to the bottom of this post to see my favorite silk items. I wanted set up today’s post this way so that I could go into a bit more depth about silk.

Typically, I think of silk as a “nice occasion” fabric. I’ve learned over the years though, that although it’s a fabric that requires a little more care than cotton, it can still be just as versatile. Take this dress from Alice & Trixie for example. If you wear it as is like I styled it today, it’s a great dress to wear to work, to a rehearsal dinner, or even for a holiday function. This dress doesn’t have to top there though. Dress it down by pairing it with booties and a fun fur or shearling vest and wear it out with girl friends. Or, put on some black pumps and a black leather jacket to add some edge to your look for a night out with your significant other.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that yes, silk can easily make a statement on it’s own. But, it doesn’t have to be a fabric you save just for those special occasions. Simply change your accessories and your silk dress works for any outting!
