2015: A Year in Review

It’s so easy to get bogged down by negative thoughts of what you don’t have in a world of “buy this” and “buy that”, but when you actually sit down and reflect on the year, you can see how God has used every situation – good and bad, to bless your life.

This past year has been one of the most challenging and yet one of the best years I have ever had. Without our faith and trust in the Lord, I’m not too sure we would have made it.

2015 started with finding out we were pregnant with our second little girl – a huge blessing as I have endometriosis, we then finished out the spring and summer with Travis working full time and taking MBA classes at SMU at night while I was at home with EG and working part-time. Right before we gave birth to Abby we celebrated Travis graduating with an MBA and I also decided to quit my job – all the while trusting God to take care of our needs.

In September we gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Abigail Claire, and were overwhelmed at our capacity to love two littles. A month later I started working again part-time as a speech therapist with a new company and began to adjust to life with two kids. I mean, I don’t know how parents do it with 4 and 5 kids. Oh, and I also turned 30…wah wah.

All this to say, it’s been quite the ride, but we’ve loved every second of it and I am forever grateful for you, too, as you follow along with me on this journey of motherhood. Thank YOU for your support and allowing me to do this – one of my biggest passions!
