With Spring less than a month away, I’m finding it harder and harder to reach for my heavy winter coats. Instead, I’d rather wear something that feels like Spring, but will still keep me warm. When I found this Ann Taylor coat called the ‘Spring Day Coat,’ it was fate! Although I typically don’t invest in coats this late in the Winter in Texas because consistent days in the 70s are just on the horizon, I know I will get a lot of use out of this coat on our trip to London/Madrid in just a couple of days. Plus, it’s thick enough that this coat will be great to wear next winter with black pants, black boots and a warm sweater; after all, black and white never goes out of style. 🙂

For today’s look, I played with whites and neutrals for a crisp, Spring look. Sometimes it’s fun to pair new pieces with old pieces, so I paired this new coat and bucket bag with some distressed denim I bought a couple of months ago and some Sam Edelman heels from last Spring (don’t worry, I’ve linked very similar items below).

style tip: always search your closet first for the pieces you might need – you never know what might be in there that you’ve forgotten about!
