the best place to stay for a dallas girls’ weekend

girls weekend at fairmont dallas

Hi, babes! It may be Monday, but I’m already workin’ for the weekend! What I wouldn’t give for another staycation at the Fairmont. Just a week ago I packed my bags, picked up my mom and sister from the airport, and we checked into the Fairmont Dallas for our annual girls’ weekend.

Once a year my mom and sister and I take some time to get away and hang out sans men! We’ve gone to the beach, toured New York City, and hiked in Colorado. This year though, we wanted soemthing super low key so we opted for a Dallas vacation (staycation for me). Although we didn’t have a set itinerary there were a couple of things we knew we would do over the weekend – visit the Dior exhibit at the DMA, post up somewhere to watch the Baylor game, and my sister and I wanted to do a long run together on the Katy Trail. So naturally, we picked the Fairmont Dallas as our hotel.

Y’all know I’m a major fan of the Fairmont and one of the main reasons is that it’s so centrally located! We honestly walked so much and it made everything so enjoyable as the weather outside was perfect! Y’all, the Fairmont Dallas is walking distance from the DMA, from Klyde Warren Park, from the AAC, from Katy Trail, and so many good restaurants. Of course you could opt for an uber or cab service, but we wanted a true city experience, which to us meant walking.

Each time I stay at the Fairmont Dallas I feel like my eyes are opened to something new. Their customer service is definitely something to write home about, but this time I got an even better glimpse as to how much they cater to their guests. They are constantly doing special things and going out of their way to interact and support their guests and their community. For example, since it was TX v. OU weekend when we stayed at the Fairmont, the Fairmont staff greeted everyone with an orange or red ice cream float upon arriving to the hotel. They set the tone for a fun weekend right out of the gate! They also hosted a game day raffle for hotel guests to win a bar tab. I just love all the detailed, intentional touches to their service!

We found out too, that the Fairmont is hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year with an incredible menu featuring locally sourced ingredients! Not in the mood to dine out or cook? You can order your turkey and sides straight from the Fairmont! Check it all out here.

Dallas girls’ weekend itinerary:

FRIDAY:

3:00 PM – check-in to the hotel

4:00 PM – head down to the Pyramid bar for happy hour

6:00 PM – dinner at Cafe Izmir. This was a new place for us to try and to be honest, we weren’t wowed by it. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. I’m not sure we would go back.

9:00 PM – call us lame, but we headed back to the Fairmont to have “girl time.” We grabbed a glass of wine from the bar on the way to our room and spent the evening in the living room area of our room just talking and laughing! We loved that our room had a separate space for us to hang out in so we didn’t have to spend all our time in our beds.

SATURDAY:

8:00 AM – Grace, my sister, and I walked to the Katy Trail and ran 6 miles together. We love running together!

9:30 AM – after running, we all 3 showered and drank coffee and tea in our room and eased into the day

11:00 AM – brunch at The Henry. Everything we ate was truly incredible, but no matter what you order, we recommend getting the coffee cake to share with your table when you go!

1:00 PM – manicures! We weren’t familiar with local nail spas, but the concierge at the Fairmont was more than helpful! He recommended a nail salon that was highly rated and the Fairmont even booked reservations for us. It was so kind!

3:00 PM – Dior Exhibit at the DMA. What better exhibit to attend on a girls’ weekend than the Dior exhibit. It was truly wonderful and so neat to see the different styles of all the different designers over the decades.

4:00 PM – upstairs bar at The Henry. We are big Baylor fans and wanted a place to watch the Baylor game. The —- is a great spot if you’re young and ready to mingle, but we were looking for a calmer vibe. We opted for the upstairs bar at The Henry and it was fabulous!

7:00 PM – dinner at North Italia. If you’re a pasta lover, this restaurant is for you!

9:30 PM – after dinner we headed back to the Fairmont bar for an after dinner drink. My mom and I stayed back and had some one-on-one time and my sister hit the town for some time with her friends.

SUNDAY:

9:00 AM – breakfast in bed! Is there a better way to end a girls’ weekend than breakfast in bed? The menu was one-of-a-kind and the service was fast. It was the perfect way to end the weekend!
