Hey guys! Happy Monday! Can you guys believe Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away?! I can’t…well, actually I can because it’s one of my favorite weeks of the year. For starters, Thanksgiving also happens to be my birthday this year – cheers to all those November 23rd birthdays out there. And, this year we get to be up north for the holiday which makes it even more exiting. What’s so special about being up north? Lots! My family, my best friend, cold weather, the Windy City, the possibility of snow, bon fires, and lots and lots of memories!

It’s funny, my sister and I were talking during our long run Saturday about what our Thanksgiving outfits will be. She plans on wearing a really cute dress, and I have absolutely no idea. But, it got me thinking about what I should wear and what women typically wear on Thanksgiving. I feel like no matter your climate, no matter your celebration style, there are 3 main categories Thanksgiving outfits.

The three categories for Thanksgiving outfits are – nice, comfy/casual, and straight up comfy. And these categories can work for all women. If we’re being honest, my mood is the determinant for which category I fall into. Some years I feel like dressing nice. I want to wear a cute dress or a festive skirt. Other years (most years), I opt for a cozy sweater with jeans or leggings. I love this option the best because you’re comfortable and yet still look like you took time to put an outfit together. And finally, sometimes I just want to be comfortable. I have had many a Thanksgiving where leggings and a fleece were the perfect pairing.

I figured you guys might be in the same boat as me, so I’m sharing my top picks for each category below. If you’re going the “nice” route, I do highly recommend the velvet skirt in this post. It’s super flattering and the large elastic waistband is really comfortable. I think it looks just as cute with a slouchy sweater, too, as it does with a fitted top.

1 – “NICE” – DRESSES/SKIRTS

2 – “COMFY/CUTE”

3 – “STRAIGHT UP COMFY”
