Happy Monday, friends! Also, happy Spring Break to all of you who are off this week! We aren’t going anywhere on vacation, but we are living it up in Dallas! From crafts to museum trips to celebrating our daddy’s birthday, we will no doubt have many adventures. The weather has finally warmed up here, too, so I’ve officially transitioned to my Spring wardrobe. And by wardrobe I mean my two uniforms – a white sundress and/or denim shorts and a white tee.
For spring and summer I lean towards those looks that give off a simple, clean vibe. I also look for ease and comfort. Other than a sundress, denim shorts seems to be the easiest option to create a clean, chic, summer look. However, finding the right length of denim shorts is no easy task. This sounds ridiculous, but how many other young moms or women in their 30s and 40s struggle with this?
I love wearing on-trend denim and I especially love cutoff shorts, but I am well aware that I’m a mom in my 30s. So, wearing teeny tiny shorts either looks like I’m trying too hard or like I’m a hoochie. Neither of which I want. I also have pretty long legs, so regular shorts automatically look shorter on me. Anyway, I found the perfect pair of cutoff denim at the most unlikely of places – Abercrombie!
Y’all, these cutoff shorts are everything. For starters, they’re high waist shorts so their auto comfortable. The length is also great. It’s short enough, but not too short that your hiney sticks out when you bend down to grab something. I love the rips in them, but especially love that they aren’t so ripped that they shows a bunch of skin.
NOTE: the color I am wearing is “medium wash,” but there are 11 options to choose from. They also fit true to size – I’m wearing my normal size in jeans.
