Happy Friday, loves!! Who else is glad it’s the freakin’ weekend? This mama is for sure. This week has felt so nutzo and I’m just glad to see a period of “slowing down” in sight. We haven’t been in Dallas for a couple of weekends, so we’re looking forward to being at home and tackling some house projects. Our main project this weekend is to finish painting the ugly green tile in our girls’ bathroom.
Here on the blog though we are talking matching sets. I think this is the neatest trend, but if I’m being honest, I planned on avoiding this one entirely. Despite loving the vibe matching sets give off, my post baby stomach doesn’t need to be flaunted for the world to see. So for awhile, I filed this trend as “one for women in their 20s.”
Then I saw this adorable suede set by Lucca Couture. I love summer suede, love the nuetral color, and the tie in the back. But, what won me over was the fact that it wouldn’t show my stomach. I hadn’t even thought of finding a matching set where the top was long enough to cover my midsection.
So, my tip for wearing a matching set? Find one where the top is long enough or the bottoms are high enough that they cover your stomach. You still get to rock the trend, but feel comfortable doing it. If you need a little more inspo, check out my Marfa Guide to see how I styled a matching skirt/top in front of Prada Marfa.
Side note – if you have the body to show off your stomach – go for it!
