Is it 5 o’clock yet? The question I seem to be asking myself almost every single day now. Even though every day feels the same, our weeks still seems to creep by and our weekends are over in the blink of an eye. In an effort to help us distinguish week day from weekend day, we’ve started to make fun cocktails on the weekend. It gives us a little something to look forward to and it’s been fun to try new things together!
We started this past weekend with one of our very favorite cocktails. We were introduced to this cocktail years ago and have since put our own little spin on it and introduced it to so many! It’s incredibly refreshing and pretty too. I will say, it’s so good that you can’t even taste the alcohol, so you have to be careful! If you’re looking for a new drink to try, I highly recommend giving this one a go!
easy tequila cocktail for summer:
INGREDIENTS:
- tequila of choice
- grapefruit juice
- sparkling water (we recommend topo chico, lime la croix, or grapefruit waterloo)
- jalepenos
- limes
- grapefruit (for garnish)
DIRECTIONS:
- Pour your desired amount of tequila into your glass. It’s important to do this first because once you put in the ice, it’s hard to decipher how much alcohol you actually have.
- Fill your glass with the desired amount of ice. I usually fill mine 3/4 full.
- Pour the grapefruit juice in until it almost fills the glass.
- Top off with a splash or two of sparkling water.
- Squeeze in 1/4 of a lime and leave lime wedge in for garnish.
- Add jalepeno slices (we usually do 3 slices, but we like spicy). Try one and go from there.
- Add a grapefruit wedge to your glass and you’re good-to-go!
