Have you booked your fall family photos yet? I lost track of time and we just now booked ours! So, needless to say, I’ve been scrambling to find coordinating outfits for our holiday card photos.
I figured you might be in the same boat, so I thought I’d share some of my mood boards. Finding the right outfits may take time and a little online shopping and stalking, but it’s super easy if you take the tips below into consideration.
Tips for Finding Outfits for Holiday Cards:
- LOCATION – start with picking the location of your fall family photos. Will they be indoors, in a photography studio, or outside? We typically take them outdoors in a woodsy type setting, which lends itself to more casual looks.
- COLOR SCHEME – pick a color scheme that fits your style and your family. We typically choose neutrals because that’s most of what we wear.
- PICK YOUR OUTFIT FIRST – for me, I typically pick my outfit first and then build their outfits off of mine.
- COORDINATE OVER MATCHING – I used to put the girls in matching outfits, but coordinating is more fun and often turns out better in photos. Stick with the same color scheme, but mix and match dress styles and textures.
