The Cold Shoulder Top – A Summer Trend in the Fall

This trend - the open shoulder trend that we loved so much over the summer is now transitioning into Fall with us!

Happy Monday, friends! I know it may still feel like Summer for some of us, but Fall is coming! I promise! Yesterday I posted about one of my favorite reoccurring Fall trends – leopard print, and today we’re talking about another big trend this season. The cold shoulder top is a fashion trend that first started making it’s appearance this past spring. In fact, the cold shoulder made it’s debut in dresses, rompers, and tops.

The cold shoulder trend was a big favorite of mine. I love that it lets us mommies or women a bit older than 21 show a little skin without showing too much. It gives your look a bit more character and pizzaz and it was fun to wear all summer long. The good news for us is that this is one of the trends we will be seeing this Fall, too! Every now and again we get a fashion trend that stays for more than one season; it almost feels too good to be true!

Of course we have to shift our look a bit when styling a cold shoulder top for Fall as opposed to summer. Gone are the strapped cold shoulder tops or the could shoulder rompers. And, in are the long sleeve cold shoulder tops, and cold shoulder dresses for wedding guests. I love that this one from Gianni Bini keeps you warm during cooler temps, but gives off a lighter vibe with the black and white contrast.
