One of Spring’s biggest trends: black and white stripes, is already being seen everywhere. It can be a bold statement, in a subtle detail, given an edgy twist or a feminine appeal. This has to be one of my favorite trends because not only does it cross over many different “styles,” but you can wear stripes in many different settings, too – work, the beach, out with friends, or running errands on the weekend. Stripes can be a bit intimidating, so be sure to check out my style tips below on how to wear stripes that will flatter your body.
Today I paired this B&W stripe blouse with trouser pants – pairing a feminine top with a more trendy pant. I love the high-low cut of the top and the breezy material. I originally paired it with converse, but tried on some heels with it and loved it even more as the perfect girls night outfit. I feel like the outfit options with this top are endless and can’t wait to pair it with white jeans and sandals when the weather gets warmer.
style tips:
avoid wearing stripes on the widest part of your body
stick to one stripe item of clothing per outfit
if you feel stripes make you look too curvy or larger than you are, add stripes with your accessories like a bag
vertical/thin stripes always give a slimming appeal
for a classic look, pair with a solid like white jeans
for a bolder style, pair with a floral pattern or polka dots or even a a different size stripe
