Happy Monday, guys!! I hope your week is off to a great start! I am so sorry I was a bit MIA last week. I have had a crazy amount of stuff on my mind – all of which is super exciting. I mentioned this on instagram too, and although I’m not quite ready to share it, I will soon enough! But I am feeling energized and pumped to be back into my groove here. There are some fun posts coming your way this week and next!
For starters, did you guys catch my comfy look from last night? I posted it on Instagram and you need to check it out. The main reason you need to check it out is because the uber soft cardigan I’m wearing is on SALE. Also, that cardigan has been my saving grace as we transition to Spring. It is so versatile and just the right weight. I’ve worn it over joggers, with jeans, with jean shorts, you name it. It’s a great staple piece to throw on as needed! A note on the joggers too – I’ve found it’s hard to find a pair that doesn’t squeeze your belly and side fat, but this one doesn’t. It’s a great light weight, but still thick enough to wear in public and it’s super slimming!
Let’s get down to the meat of today’s post though. When the heck can we wear white and what the heck do we need for Spring? These are such common questions for all of us, so I though I’d address them in today’s post! For starters, the old white rule (after memorial day and before labor day) is totally out the window. It has been for some time. If you haven’t noticed, I wear white all year long. It’s so fun and no one cares!
That being said though, most people feel more comfortable wearing neutrals and whites in the Spring and Summer months. So, as we head into Spring I wanted to share with you guys 4 neutral pieces you’ll need this year. These are pieces that you’ll be able to wear all Spring and Summer long. And the best news is that you don’t need to break the bank to get them either.
The 4 neutral pieces you need this season are a classic pair of white jeans, a neutral blouse, a little neutral bag, and some neutral wedges.
4 Must Have Neutral Pieces for Spring
- White jeans – this is the no brainer, right? White jeans are everything. They should be your go-to denim staple this Spring and Summer. They make your outfit bright and cheery and they go with everything. They’re like a blank canvas for any and every style. You can dress them up or down, and you can wear them over and over. Even though they make a statement, they can be worn every day of the week just with a different top. Truly, I do it all the time. 🙂
- neutral blouse – having a neutral blouse is a great staple, too. I like to find out that isn’t too loud, but that has a fun detail. For example, the top in today’s post is pretty neutral. But, it has some fun ruffles on the sleeves and a lace collar that make it stand out a bit. The thing about a neutral blouse is that it can be worn with a skirt to work, with white denim for a chic look, or it can be used to layer over. It’s a top that will afford you a lot of possibilities.
- small neutral bag – neutral totes have always been big in the Spring and Summer, right? Well, this year mini bags and bucket bags are in. So this year opt for a small neutral bag instead of a big nude tote.
- neutral wedges – wedges are another item that seems to be in season each Spring and Summer. They are one of those shoes that can be worn with a casual look, a cute sundress, or to a wedding. I’m not going to lie either, I’ve never really been a fan of wedges. I just didn’t think they fit my style. But, I found this pair in today’s post and I’m obsessed. I love that they look more like mules and they aren’t super high. They’re really easy to walk in and they don’t rub you in any weird or wrong place.
