The 4 Best Ways to Style a Sheer Tulle Dress

Hello, friends! Thanks for stopping by this morning! I’m steering a bit away from my typical all white look for a fun, more edgy outfit today! Of course I still have some white – my pumps, because I just can’t help myself. We’re all familiar with the tulle skirt trend that these beautiful bloggers have styled so well: Preeti, Tammy, and Kelssey.

But, there’s been a fun new take on tulle – sheer tulle tops and dresses meant for layering! I haven’t touched this trend to be honest yet because it’s harder to find white sheer tulle, but when I saw this flirty, feminine midi tulle dress I thought I would have some fun with it. If you see me wearing it on the streets I’ll probably have it paired with white jeans and a white tank, but this look is geared more toward a night on the town or even a fun concert! (side note: I have concert on the brain because I’m seeing Coldplay in Houston in 2 weeks with two of my besties…eek!)

After styling this tulle dress over dark skinny jeans (my fav brand) and a lace came, I got to thinking…how else would I style this? I like to buy pieces that I know I can wear over and over and this sheer tulle midi dress isn’t your plain white tee by any means. So, scroll down a bit and see my top 4 ways for styling this sheer tulle dress.

4 BEST WAYS TO STYLE SHEER TULLE:

  1. LAYER OVER PANTS – this is how I styled my sheer tulle dress today, but it doesn’t have to just be jeans. Layer them over faux leather leggings ($29) or cargo skinny jeans.
  2. LAYER OVER A DRESS – if you have more of a feminine style, layer your tulle dress over a body con ($55) or mini dress (sleeveless, short sleeves, or long sleeve).
  3. LAYER OVER SHORTS + A TANK – for a fun summer look, throw a sheer tulle dress over your cutoffs and tank top. Pair it with sandals, mules, or wedges.
  4. LAYER UNDER A MOTO JACKET – your tulle dress or skirt doesn’t always have to be the top layer. Style it with a pair of jeans and layer a moto jacket over it as you transition into Fall.
