3 Easy-To-Style Pieces That Will Elevate Your Spring Wardrobe

Hey, girl!

Spring is officially here and I am beyond thrilled. I am a Spring/Summer girl through and through; nothing makes me happier than sunshine and warm weather!

Each month I create capsule wardrobes that I use to create outfits throughout the month. You can check out March’s here. Creating capsules has proven to help me save money and get more wear out of the pieces I buy. It’s also helped me be a lot more intentional about what I spend my money on. I’d much rather spend money on quality pieces that will last years as opposed to cheaply made pieces that will unravel after several washes.

Because of this shift from fast-fashion to well-made, versatile pieces, the way I shop has been transformed. I now find that every time I purchase something I ask myself “how many ways can you style this?” before buying it.

Just several weeks ago I popped in my favorite consignment shop in Dallas, Clotheshorse Anonymous, and was so excited to see all the spring colors and clothes out! I first headed to the shoes to check to see if they had any Golden Goose sneakers in my size. Seeing none, I headed back toward the front to look through the new spring arrivals.

Okay, and before we get into the 3 items I added to my spring wardrobe, we have to talk about something! I’ve been shopping at Clotheshorse Anonymous for years and have never seen Hill House dresses. Y’all! When I went this past time I found a Hill House nap dress! I was way exciting and their employees were as well! They told me, too, that they are putting even more Hill House items on the floor. Hill House dresses are typically $100 or more, so to find a Hill House dress in mint condition for only $50 is amazing!

Okay, let’s get to the good stuff already…

3 Pieces to Elevate Your Spring Wardrobe:

I ended up trying on multiple pieces, but at the end of the day, I walked away with only 3 items (all under $150 total). I picked these 3 items because I knew they were pieces that would elevate my spring and summer wardrobe. I also knew that I could style and layer each piece multiple ways and therefore increase the longevity of each item.

3 EASY-TO-STYLE PIECES:

  • a white jumpsuit – a white jumpsuit or dress is a must-have in a spring wardrobe. It acts as a blank canvas and can be styled in so many ways simply by changing your accessories.
  • a kimono – a kimono serves two great purposes in spring. It is the perfect light layering piece and it can double as a coverup as pool days start to creep in.
  • a nap dress – whether you have a nap dress like the one I found or just a simple cotton dress, every spring wardrobe needs one. I refer to these as throw-and-go dresses. A dress that’s not fussy and is easy to wear; A dress that you can throw on for errands, wear to church, or to a school function.
