Hi, babes! I hope you all had a great weekend and are having a great start to your week. We had a great weekend of time away with friends mixed with family time, family walks, and a Sunday full of church and home chores. But, a new week of work and school has started and we’re hoping to get more into the swing of things this week!

This will be the girls second full week of school and they are pumped. This year has felt so different to me because my girls just seem so much bigger. I don’t know if it’s because we’re officially out of the toddler stage or because Emma Grace is a first grader, but it just feels different. First grade just seems like such a giant step. My worries have shifted from “will they fall asleep at nap time” to things like “will they pay attention in class?” or “will Emma Grace be inclusive at recess with all the girls?”

I could honestly spend hours worrying about my girls and all the “what if” scenarios of school, but this past weekend it hit me – why worry when I can just trust God. If I’m placing my trust in God for all the other areas of my life, why would I not whole-heartedly put my trust in Him with all my first grade worries? And not only that, but why am I not being more prayerful? Sure, I pray every day for Emma Grace, but we are called to pray specifically, too. So, I’m setting my intention this week to pray specific things for girls. Sometimes I’m sure my prayers will be related to specific situations, but I can also pray for specific traits. I can pray that Emma Grace will grow in traits like integrity and patience and that she will demonstrate traits like love and respect.
